Paul Shimomoto and the Rat Pack Revue: On stage at Mid-Pacific Country Club

Ain’t That a Kick—Mid-Pacific’s Swingin’ Supper Club Series

Even if you’ve never swung a golf club, you should consider joining Mid-Pacific Country Club for the entertainment and social perks! The club assembles some truly creative member events throughout the year that simply can’t be replicated. The setting is so spectacular and the newly renovated space is warm and welcoming.

As part of their Supper Club series, the Club team recently invited members to a swingin’ evening of mid-century nostalgia, delicious food, and the soothing sounds of Sinatra’s Songbook. For the evening’s event, Paul Shimomoto and the Rat Pack Revue took center stage in the Kaʻohao Ballroom, where members and their guests were treated to a lineup of the Old Blue Eyes’ greatest hits (and some more rare and less known ones).

The entertainment was paired with wonderful storytelling and some 1950s-style dishes and craft cocktails true to the era. Drinks were worthy of early seasons of Mad Men and named for the biggest league members of the Rat Pack: The Frank, The Sammy, The Dean, The Peter and The Joey. (Can you name all of the Pack’s inner circle?)

Club members enjoyed a buffet of starters and entrées popularized in the middle of the last century. Think iceberg wedge and Waldorf salads to start, and for the main course—braised clams, chicken piccata, New York Striploin, potatoes au gratin, and buttered haricots vert. And for the sweet lovers, New York style cheesecake and of course, chocolate mousse for dessert.

Members enjoyed dinner and a show—and some took to the dance floor to cut a rug—a rare combo of entertainment in the 21st century! Unique and special events like these are just some of the many benefits of membership at Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Members can log in to the Club website to learn more about upcoming exclusive events on the calendar. Non-members can join the fun with a Golf, Social, or Social Non-Resident membership. Please contact Membership Director Jared Heltsley at (808) 262-8161 for more information.
