The Women’s Division is thrilled to announce a very special partnership with one of our own home-grown stars. LPGA Professional Malia Nam returned to the MPCC community and has generously offered to support our division through guest rounds and expert golf tips!
Growing up in Kailua, she first picked up a club with Casey Nakama at Olomana. Living on the 7th hole of the course, her passion for the game grew quickly, leading her to study under Robert Respicio. Throughout her junior career and into her college years, MPCC became her true home base. To ensure she could compete at the highest level, Malia attended Kaiser High School—the only local option at the time with a dedicated golf team—setting the stage for a legendary collegiate career.
Malia’s talent took her to the University of Southern California (USC) on a full-ride scholarship, where she put together a phenomenal list of accolades:
- PAC-12 Freshman of the Year
- Automatic Selection for Team USA at the Arnold Palmer Cup
- East Lake Cup Champion
- 1st Team All-Conference Selection
On the national stage, she was a constant force, competing in six USGA Women’s Amateur Championships and four USGA Girl’s Junior Championships. After graduating in 2023, Malia conquered the rigorous Q-School process, earning her full LPGA Tour card after three demanding stages. Following her rookie year on the LPGA in 2024, she continues to compete professionally on both the LPGA and Epson Tours.
After a stint based in San Francisco, Malia has relocated her home base back to Kailua to be closer to her support system. We are lucky to have her back on our fairways!
